Kwan "Tina" Tai Adams

Kwan "Tina" Tai Adams passed away on December 25, 2017 following a long battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.

Kwan was born in Canton, China on June 23, 1945. In her youth she immigrated to Hong Kong with her mother, Hong Kim Yau, where she helped raise her three younger siblings, Sarah, Albert, and Ling Ling.

Kwan met Dale "Eugene" Adams in Christmastime of 1971, while he was in Hong Kong as part of the US Navy. Dale would become her best friend, travel partner, and husband. The two moved to the United States in February of 1973, married in San Diego on June 26, 1973, and were inseparable during their 44 years of marriage. Together they raised three children — Stephen, Ginger, and Donald — and split their time between Las Vegas, NV, Mount Vernon, WA, and Seattle, WA. One of Kwan's proudest acheivements was becoming an American citizen in the summer of 1993.

Kwan enjoyed sightseeing, photography, hiking, bird-watching, and spending time with her family. A lifelong Buddhist, Kwan frequented the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple in Redmond and the Ling Yen Mountain Temple in British Columbia. She will be remembered for her passionate spirit, culinary excellence, quick wit, and beautiful smile.

In addition to her husband, mother, siblings and children, Kwan is survived by her granddaughters, Ahri, Ahmina, Nylah, and Leecie; her grandson, Matthew; and her extended family in both Canada and Hong Kong.
